Honeychild Chocolates
Our Ingredients
Cacao Butter
“Cacao seeds are pressed at low temperature to make this impressive raw cocoa butter. Completely unlike other cocoa butters, which are processed at high temperatures and treated with chemicals to remove the subsequent unpleasant scent, this butter has a wonderful delicate chocolate aroma and smooth rich flavor. Raw Cacao butter contains beneficial polyphenols and saturated fats that may have a positive effect on cholesterol.”
Cacao Powder
“Cacao seeds are processed at low temperatures producing this fantastic raw cocoa (and the cocoa butter). Raw Cacao powder is clearly the most medicinal chocolate product available. Analysis reveals up to 4 times the antioxidants action of roasted seed powder! Raw Cacao powder has some of the highest antioxidant levels found in any food.”
Lucuma
“The fruit of this sacred tree, a sapote relative, was the most spiritually important fruit of the ancient cultures of coastal Peru, archaeological evidence dating back 10,000 years. It played a central role in creation myths, the nutritious breast like fruits being associated with fertility and nourishment. The fruits superficially resemble a nippled avocado with yellow-orange pulp "the color of the light stolen from a thousand sunsets." The pulp has an attractive aroma and a rich maple-cream flavor. It is high in carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins and minerals, including significant amounts of beta-carotene, niacin and iron.”
Agave Nectar
Sap from the agave cactus. Low on the glycemic index due to its high proportion of fructose and lower levels of glucose.
Vanilla Bean
The near-ripe fruit of the Vanilla orchid.
Gogi Berries
“Goji berries are considered to be one of the most nutritious food sources on the planet. They are rich in antioxidant carotenoids, vitamin A and Zeaxanthin. They contain B-complex vitamins, Vitamin C (500 times more than oranges), and important polysaccharides. These little berries contain more protein than whole wheat (they are 10% protein) and supply 19 different amino acids including all 8 essential amino acids. In addition, goji berries are loaded with many phytonutrients.”
